Sippur is built to be quiet — and that includes how it treats your data. There are no accounts, no tracking, and no advertising. In plain terms: we collect nothing about you.
No account. No tracking. No ads. Your reading history and preferences stay on your device — we have no servers that store anything about you, so we can't see what you read.
What stays on your device
Your reading history, the stories you like or skip, your chosen language, theme, text size, story length, and daily reminder time are saved only in your device's local storage. This information never leaves your device, we never see it, and deleting the app removes it.
What we don't collect
We never ask for your name, email address, or phone number, and there is no account to create. Sippur contains no analytics tools, no advertising, and no third-party trackers. We don't sell or share personal data — because we don't gather it in the first place.
Story content
The full library of stories ships inside the app and works completely offline. From time to time the app may fetch an updated catalog of public-domain stories from a content server. That request is read-only and carries no personal information; like any request to a website it momentarily involves your device's IP address, which we do not log, store, or use to identify you.
Notifications
If you turn on the daily reminder, it is scheduled locally on your device by your operating system. There are no push servers, and nothing about your reading is sent to us when a reminder appears.
Photos
If you choose to save a shareable quote card, the app writes that single image to your photo library with your permission. Sippur never reads, scans, or accesses the photos already on your device.
Sharing
When you share a story or a quote card, your device's standard share sheet hands it to whichever app you choose. What happens after that is governed by that app's policies, not ours.
Payments
Sippur is free to download, with the first 12 stories free; unlocking the full library is a single one-time purchase. That purchase is processed entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play — we never receive or store your card or payment details, and we do not track what you buy. Your unlock is remembered on your device and can be restored through your app-store account.
Your control
You can reset your preferences and clear your history at any time from Settings. Deleting the app removes everything stored locally.
Children's privacy
Because Sippur collects no data from anyone, it is suitable for readers of every age.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, we will update the date shown above, and significant changes will be noted in the app.
